(38) Van zuster Trude ter Hoeve († 1438)

At one time she stood in the kitchen and was supposed to be washing; then came one sister and knocked before the kitchen, and asked that for God’s sake, she would loan her a blade. And then Sister Trude answered and said, “Yes, gladly, dear sister.”

And when she had said that, she stayed standing there, washing on and on.

Then the sister said, “You said ‘gladly,’ but you are, nevertheless, staying standing there washing.”

Then she answered lovingly back, and said, “Dear sister, I am going all around and searching for it in my mind.”
